World of Warcraft Cataclysm Area Guide

The upcoming release of the World of Warcraft Cataclysm not only offers new characters and features, but also offers brand new "unlock" and remade lands to explore alone or with friends. While there are not necessarily any new "continents" to explore or "worlds" to travel to, Cataclysm promises some great changes in how players will view the World of Warcraft. WoW is introducing a very unique sequence to help set it apart from other MMORPG's. Instead of introducing new worlds, they are simply causing a "havoc and change" within the storyline and in turn creating new "areas and places" out of the lands that are already present.
For example, the land of Azeroth will be getting a rather large revamp. A "zone" within Azeroth called "The Barrens" will now be split into two entirely different areas, each with their own level ranges and monsters accordingly. The area called "Azshara" will transform into a "friendlier place" containing monsters that range in levels from ten to twenty. The bleak and desolate zone called "The Wailing Caverns" will become a lush and vibrant place full of foliage and brimming with "nature." Players should also be on the lookout for the "Blackrock Spire" to erupt, causing a chain of events that ends with a new area becoming accessible in the "Blackrock Mountains." Needless to say, the continent of Azeroth will be seeing a mass of changes physically and in some instances, changes in gameplay. The addition of flying across Azeroth will also be present, which will allow for faster travel between zones and areas.
Azeroth isn't the only thing to change, according to Blizzard we can also see a few "new" and "unlocked" areas. Look for the areas of Hyjal, Gilneas (which will become home to the new playable "Worgen" class and act as their starting point), and a place called "Uldum." There is also going to be a revamp and change in some of the "dungeons" that are accessible by party. With the great number of updates that comes with the expansion, gamers would benefit from Cataclysm guides and similar resources. Look for all of these area changes and more when the Cataclysm expansion arrives sometime this year.
