Wow Your Adversaries on a World of Warcraft Escort Quest

One of the best -and most exciting- ways to raise your World of Warcraft character level is by embarking on as many quests as possible, as outlined in the WoW guide. Dungeons and angry mobs are all in a day work for the serious Warcraft gamer, but a quest is a chance for the truly daring hero to test his worth, and experience an exciting new landscape of potential waiting to be realized in this incredible world. No quest is ever the same, with a variety of possibilities to suit your interests and slake your thirst for adventure. As further described in the WoW Guide, quests range from your standard mercenary pursuit of a target mob to good old fashion capture-the-flag maneuvers to obtain valuable artifacts or other such items of significance deep behind enemy lines.
For those wishing to up the stakes, there is the escort quest. Think of it as capture the flag, with a treasured character on the line instead. These non-player characters are generally on a quest of their own to reach a particular destination, during which they will need your help as they walk blissfully unaware into waiting mobs and untold danger. While there are numerous benefits to be gained from an escort quest, they are not to be undertaken lightly.
So before you set off, be sure you -and your character- are up for the challenge. Take any necessary precautions you can foresee, and attend to the smallest cuts and scrapes from your latest adventure. Pets are valuable companions to have -reassert your bond and be sure to keep them happy. There is no rush to undertake an escort quest; make sure you have taken all the necessary steps to prepare for what is in store. Once you agree to such a quest, there is no telling where it will lead you, so be sure to tie up all loose ends!
Otherwise, follow your charge; when the character you serve goes, you go. Just a heads up: your charge will likely attract every mob that stands between you and your destination. Look sharp. It is better to act than react, so you might as well draw in the mobs while you are on guard when you can.
Do not be alarmed when the object of your quest rushes to meet these mobs. They will come back as soon as you have taken care of business. Also, keep in mind that there is no quest without the character you have ventured to escort; do not forget to monitor their health!
And because the rewards would not be great if the challenges were not greater, escorted characters tend to trigger mobs and guards without warning. So as you diligently scan the horizon for the next mob en route, be wary. Another reason to draw these standard mobs to you when you have the chance. That way you are less likely to be ambushed by hoards of unruly adversaries at once!
Warlocks and hunters generally have the upper hand in escort quests, along with their trusty pet companions. For those without a pet to bait impending mobs, you might consider placing your strength in numbers by teaming up with other players for your escort quest.
