WOW Gold Secrets - Introduction by Glen Meyers
Although buying gold is expensive and can get your account banned, people still buy gold on a regular basis. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with that. If Blizzard was smart, they would offer gold to their customers and allow them to purchase it directly from the official World of Warcraft website. Or they could have an ATM machine in Ironforge that takes all forms of credit cards and then credits your toon with however much gold you wish to purchase.
I don't think people buy gold because they want to cheat. I think they simply don't have the same amount of time to invest in the game that other players do. And if you're paying to play a game, why should you not be able to experience it at the level you want just because you have a full-time job or a family to attend to?
I've been a hard-core wow player for several years, and I've made far more than my share of gold while playing the game. I made so much gold that I bought my way to exalted with each of the major cities so I could purchase all the epic mounts from the different factions. Remember when you couldn't buy epic riding mounts with honor? When the only way to do it was to turn in runecloth until you reached exalted, and then you had to pay an arm and a leg for training and each mount? Well, I had all the mounts long before you could get them with PVP honor.
I was also guildmaster of probably the only guild in the history of World of Warcraft that issued paychecks to its members. That's right, paychecks. Every member of my guild earned anywhere from 30 gold to 150 gold per week, depending on their time contributed towards benefiting the guild and its members. Weekly payroll ranged from 2,000 to 4,000 gold.
If you don't have the time to earn gold in game, then buy gold from a reseller and hope Blizzard doesn't ban you. Make sure you take a look around first before you buy as there are many gold sellers available on the internet and the prices vary considerably. Although, with all the sites out there selling gold, I'm starting to believe the threat of getting banned for buying gold is more bark than bite.
This article is the first of a series that I will post specifically for the players who wish to earn their gold in-game instead of purchasing it from gold resellers.
