RE5 Review - Does Resident Evil 5 Scare Like it Used To?

Resident Evil 5 (also known as RE5) is the latest game in revolutionary the series from Capcom. RE5 builds upon the groundbreaking game mechanics that were first introduced in the fourth game, but is the game any better, and is it a worthy sequel? In this RE5 Review I'll be summing up the strengths and weaknesses of the game, and providing an overall score, from someone that has played it through thoroughly.
Three words sum up the Resident Evil series - Evil, Engrossing and Apocalypse. If you're unfamiliar with the series (or indeed the film that was based on the games), then they're basically about a company called Umbrella who unleashes a virus upon the world that starts a zombie outbreak. Each of the games are set in different places, such as Racoon City or a large mansion. RE5 is set in Africa, which is a drastic step, and one that will either make or break the game.
The graphics of the game are absolutely gorgeous, and easily on-par with any of the other current-generation games to be released. Basing the game in Africa could have gone horribly wrong, as the strong graphical content would clearly be more difficult to accomplish than if the game was once again set in a city at night.
A RE5 Review would not be complete without a look at the enemies you'll be facing. The problem with this game is that you've probably seen them all before; the axe maniacs, to the rabid dogs and the chainsaw-wielding giants. That being said, the game is still extremely fun, and it's probably a good thing that they didn't change too much. However, the game has a strong sense of familiarity that has not been seen in any of the other games in the series, and the game is less 'shock and horror' than ever and mostly based on surviving and killing enemies.
